So where has DMS been? Getting married duh.

But anyways, GooglePages is shutting down at the start of June, meaning along with it the CSS sheet to this page will become useless once Google makes the transistion to Googlepage's succesor. I don't have the time or the patience to convert all of the stylings to HTML. I haven't talked to Greg or T-Bag for that matter in ages, but I don't see either of them wanting to do the work either.

The site isn't going anywhere, the new Google system will just redirect the page over to the new url. The only thing changing is the layout as all the work I put into it was made using Googlepages. If this is getting confusing sorry, the main idea is the site isn't leaving, it just won't be as pretty without the CSS. So someone out there with the time and knowledge can download the file when I upload it and convert it to HTML or upload it onto another server, either process won't take more than 10 minutes but like I said I have neither the patience or the time.

Sorry I have been away so long but I've been super busy with work, and making babies. There's nothing going on anyways right now and aside from a few big albums being released this year everything is looking dull for the rest of '09. Anyways I'm out again hopefully you'll hear from me again before June, if not Greg has been doing a pretty good job of posting I see so if you need anything specific shoot him an email. Otherwise if you can help with the conversion issue hit me up.

Death Row Catalouge Up For Sale

The New York Daily News reports a substantial amount of unreleased recordings by 2Pac, Snoop Dogg and other former Death Row artists will be auctioned off on January 15. The material stems from the 2006 bankruptcy sale of Death Row Records’ assets after Marion “Suge” Knight filed for Chapter 11 protection. Todd Nielsen, the Chapter 11 trustee of the Death Row Estate, tells the Daily News that the catalogue contains thousands of unreleased recordings.

Similar sales to Warner Music Group in February of 2008 and Global Music Group in June were never completed. Analysts believe the economic recession and the reputation Knight built during his run while head of Death Row could affect the asking price, which was previously at $25 million.

“It could be a tough sale,” an unnamed source added. “Some people don’t want to go near the catalogue because they think Suge still believes it’s his.”

While Death Row’s immediate future is still being decided in the courts, the label’s vaults of unreleased recordings have been a cash cow. Since his death in September of 1996, there have been at least 10 posthumously released albums from Tupac Shakur alone.

Taylor Swift's "Fearless" (Big Machine) begins a third non-consecutive week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 this week, selling 330,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "Fearless" trumps big debuts from Keyshia Cole and Jamie Foxx, which open at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

Cole's "A Different Me" (Geffen) starts with 322,000, a career-best sales week for the R&B singer. Her 2007 album, "Just Like You," also debuted at No. 2 but with 281,000 units.

Foxx's "Intuition" (J) shifts 265,000 copies. His last album, "Unpredictable," bowed exactly two years ago, starting at No. 2 with 598,000 before rising to No. 1 the following week with 200,000.

Britney Spears' "Circus" (Jive) slips 2-4 with 196,000, a 2% decrease. Beyonce's "I Am ... Sasha Fierce" (Music World/Columbia) drops 3-5 despite a 23% increase to 195,000, while Nickelback's "Dark Horse" (Roadrunner) slides 4-6 on a 24% increase to 194,000.

The Chop Shop/Atlantic soundtrack to "Twilight" is down 5-7 on an 18% increase to 156,000, while Fall Out Boy's "Folie a Deux" (Island) debuts at No. 8 with 150,000. The album, which was originally scheduled for a Nov. 4 release, is the follow-up to 2007's "Infinity on High," which debuted at No. 1 with 260,000.

AC/DC's "Black Ice" enjoys a 30% increase to 143,000, taking its total to more than 1.8 million since September. The multi-label compilation "Now 29" falls 7-10 on a 22% increase to 139,000.

Anthony Hamilton returns to the chart with "The Point of It All" (Jive) at No. 12 with 133,000. His last new studio effort, "Ain't Nobody Worryin'," debuted and peaked at No. 19 in December 2005 with 112,000.

Rapper Plies' third Atlantic album, "Da Realist," begins at No. 14 with 114,000. His first and second sets, "The Real Testament" and "Definition of Real," both debuted and peaked at No. 2 (with 96,000 and 215,000, respectively).

The All-American Rejects' "When The World Comes Down" (Interscope) enters at No. 15 with 112,000. The band's last release, 2005's "Move Along," moved onto the chart at No. 6 with 90,000.

Teenage rapper Soulja Boy's "ISouljaBoyTellEm" (ColliPark/Interscope) debuts at a disappointing No. 43 with 46,000; his 2007 debut, "SouljaBoyTellEm.com," began at No. 4 with 117,000, on the strength of the No. 1 Hot 100 hit "Crank That."

Seattle-based rock act Fleet Foxes enjoys its biggest sales week to date with its self-titled Sub Pop debut, which sold 13,500 copies, prompting a 181-118 jump. The group, which performed last week on NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," won numerous year-end critics' polls, including Billboard's.

At 17.16 million units, album sales this week are up 33% over last week but down 33% from the same week in 2007, when 25.57 million albums were sold.

Jennifer Aniston's doggy drama Marley & Me beat out Brad Pitt's fantasy flick The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at the box office on Christmas Day.

According to preliminary box office numbers, Marley & Me opened at No. 1 with $14.6 million in ticket sales, while Pitt's film came in second with $11.8 million.

Coming in third was Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories which raked in $10.4 million in sales, followed by Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise with $8.5 million.

Aniston wished Pitt success during her appearance on The Oprah Winfey show in November.

"We all want our movie to do well...Can we have a tie?" Aniston joked.

Look back on Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt in happier days.

And though Aniston is leading in ticket sales - don't feel sorry for Pitt.

He is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and scored Screen Actors Guild Award nod this month.

MTV Cans 50 Cent Reality Show

Rapper, actor and overall entrepreneur, 50 Cent, is having his MTV reality show canceled after roughly one month on the air. After debuting on November 6, The Money and the Power will be permanently shelved due to disappointing ratings. MTV Entertainment President Brian Gradenthe also cited the network's desire to find shows that better "reflect Generation 'Why Not?'—living, working and playing on their own terms, 'adventure capitalists' if you will, pursuing a variety of thrill-seeking, 2.0, express-yourself enterprises."

Heading up MTV's line-up of virtually music-free programming will be Daddy's Girls. The show is a reality spin-off of Run's House and follows Angela and Vanessa Simmons. Reality-based programs such as College Life, Nitro Circus and Girls of Hedsor Hall will round out the programming schedule which was previously vacated by music programs such as Total Request Live.

Giving Up Ownership

So the time has come, I can no longer devote regular time to maintaing and updating the blog. In the past I was able to take requests and always have consistent updates. This blog was never the best on the net, but it was always the most honest. I never put up anything I didn't honestly enjoy.
